モヤ　「ラファはチームに入ることにはなってたけど、決勝出場は予定されてなかった。だけど、ロブレドの調子が悪かったこともあって、当時世界ナンバー２だったロディックにラファを当てることにしたんだ。どれだけのプレッシャーか想像してみてくれ。たったの１７、８才で、大会優勝経験もなく、２７０００人の観衆の前でプレイするんだ。ラファの中の「ケモノ」が目覚めたんだろうと思う。その後のことはご承知の通りだ。それ以来の彼は信じられない（すごさだ）。確かに、あれは（ラファにとっての）転換点だったね。」

当時ラファは５０位くらい。モヤの揚げ足をとるわけじゃないけど、２００４ソポトで優勝してます。

このデ杯決勝の観客は２７０００人あまり。これはテニスの試合としては史上２位の動員数だとか。一位は１９７３年のビリージーン・キングvsBobby Riggs（女性vs男性？）。
