ラファのルーティーンはコート登場以前にも延々と・・・

カナダ大会でプレイヤーズサービスとして長年ボランティア活動をしてきた人の回顧話。

たいていの選手には2分前に「出番だよ」と告げるそうだけど、ラファには10分前に伝えるんだとか。

"Ten minutes of shtick. You've never seen anything like this," Lemay said.

Lemay would alert most players two minutes before they were due on court. With Rafa, it was 10 minutes - at which point Nadal jumped in the shower.

"Dries the hair. Wets it again, puts on the headband. Then gets dressed, turns the bottles a certain way, the racquets a certain way," Lemay said. "Out of the locker room, get to the top of the stairs, throw the bag down, stop, fix the socks. Out the door, bag down, tweak the socks again. Onto the tunnel, halfway down, bag down, tweak the socks." If Nadal is a little late getting on the court, that's why.
