いくつか謎が解けた：
最近成績がふるわなかっったのは、やはり故障（膝）があったため。それもあってインディアンウエルズ・マイアミ（の予選）には出なかった。
今年２月のデ杯に出てなかったのは、RG本戦入りを目指してランキングを上げる必要があったため。デ杯キャプテンもその件は理解してくれた。入替戦には出場予定。

その他：
トップ選手の中でよく知っているのはデルポとフェレール。フェデラーとも一度ならず５分とか１０分話したことがある。
好きな選手はガト。それから、グガ。

En estos torneos también me jugaba la entrada al cuadro principal de Roland Garros, lamentablemente tenía que haber tenido mejores resultados en los otros torneos, porque esta es la última semana que sumo; voy a quedar afuera, pero la idea de no jugar la Davis fue por eso.

¿Cómo estás de tu lesión de rodilla?

Cuando empecé a jugar a fin de año en cemento tuve bastantes problemas, me molestaba bastante. Ahora, también la decisión de no ir a Indian Wells y a Miami fue un poco por eso.

A (Juan Martín) Del Potro (Nº 5) lo conozco desde muy chico. Hemos compartido giras, hemos jugado algún dobles. No sé bien quién está en el Top 10, pero con David Ferrer (Nº 12) también (tengo relación).

Siempre me gustó mucho el estilo de (Gastón) Gaudio y en su momento me gustó mucho “Guga” (Kuerten).

つい先頃までバグダティスのコーチだったルンドグレンですが、来年１月からパリのテニスアカデミーにコーチとして迎えられるそうです。そのルンドグレン（元サフィン・コーチでもある）が語ります：

「マラトは今でも世界レベルの選手で、まだまだたくさん見せるべきものを持っている。ツアーは、色々な意味で彼を必要としている。彼はとてもポジティブな意味でレアなパーソナリティの持ち主で、コートでは機嫌が良ければ真のアーティストになり得る。機嫌が悪ければ最悪だけどね。前もってマラト・サフィンを予測するなんて、誰にもできない。それが彼の素晴らしい所なんだ。もしも彼が今やめるとしたらとても残念に思うことだろう。彼がまだいてくれてうれしいよ」

マレィは、クリスマスにはおばあちゃんの手料理をいただくんだそうです。でも、すごく量が少なくて、「ちっぽけなチポラータ - 例のミニ・ソーセージだよ、それを２つとか。。ぜーーんぜん足りない」んだとか。で、毎年、家族みんなでおばあちゃんに文句言うそうだけど・・・今年はどうだったやら。

Q：　トラとジャガーが好きな動物だそうですが、タコはペットとしていかがですか？

ベルダスコ：　「何だって？　タコをペットにしてる人なんているの？　たいていの人間は、タコよりトラやジャガーの方が好きだと思うけど」

なぜ、ここで突然「タコ」の話が出てきたのか、まったく不明。
まさか「タコチュー」なお口の持ち主の話じゃないよねえ・・・

デ杯チームではふざけて"Ferruquito"（「フェルちゃん」というニュアンス？？？）とか呼ばれていたそうだけど、ふつうは"Fer"と呼ばれてるそうです。
（そういえば、友だちは"Fer"、家族は"Nando"と呼ぶ・・という話を読んだことがある気が）

Q：　不況の影響をどんなところに感じますか？
ベルダスコ：　「いや、とくに気がつかない。それというのも、僕にとってはテニスが物事の中心なので、不況だから資産が減るとか、好況だから儲かるとか考えないからなんだ。お金のことは父が管理してるし、僕は、口座にいくらあるかも見当がつかない」

R. Bueno, yo no noto la crisis, porque desde siempre me ha gustado centrarme en el tenis y no preocuparme ni de si pierdo dinero porque la economía va mal, ni de si lo he ganado porque va bien. Mi padre me lleva los temas económicos. Yo, ni idea del dinero que tengo en la cuenta.

Money and surveys is what is behind the latest changes in the men's ATP tour.

ATP is changing its name to the ATP World Tour. Surely surveys have again led to this initiative, which means in less than 10 years the tour has gone from ATP Tour to the ATP to the ATP World Tour.

Another example of ATP corporate over-think is the name of the season-ending tournament held every November. Over 20 years it has had four – the Masters, the ATP World Championship, the Tennis Masters Cup and, starting in next year, the ATP World Tour Final.

To justify prize money hikes, the current ATP regime has obviously had to add some sizzle by re-jigging its nomenclature and introducing such things as harsher punishment for players missing Masters Series events (unnecessary because players have been good at playing them – the top-five missed zero Masters

Series tournaments in 2008) and stencilling tour identity on the bottom part of the nets on court.
